FAQ

Here are the solution/information on several commonly asked questions.

How do I get married?
Go to Riften. In the temple of Mara, you can talk to the priest and buy an Amulet that will open new conversational options.
You don’t need to get the Amulet from the temple, you can find it elsewhere, but you do need to talk to the priest.

Are there any Bosmer/Khajiit people to marry?
At the moment, no. Though if you play on PC, you can use the console commands outlined here to marry pretty much anyone.

How do I solve *insert glitch here*?
The most common glitch is the glitch with Esbern in the Ratways (he doesn’t have a voice/doesn’t do what he should do). There is a fix for PC users here.

For all other glitches (especially the lag/memory problem/can’t find companion glitch) there are 2 things you can do.
1) Close and reopen the game.
2) Wait for the patch, which could be coming out as soon as Monday.

How do I become a werewolf/vampire?
Becoming a werewolf REQUIRES you to do some of the companion quests. No option there. They can be founf in Whiterun.

Becoming a vampire requires you to NOT be a werewolf, and to be attacked by a vampire. You can then contract Sanguinare Vampiris. For in-depth information on how the disease works, see here.

The Guards keep attacking my in Markath!
Yeah. This one is a bitch. Nothing you can do on Xbox/PS3, but if you have PC go into console (hit the `/~ button between tab and esc), click a guard of Markath and type ‘paycrimegold’ no apostrophes. That fixes it. It still costs the gold, but it bridges a dialogue gap.

Resurrecting without a body

All you have to do is open the console, and enter “player.placeatme (person’s BaseID)”
This spawns them again, right by you. This doesn’t get rid of their old corpse, wherever it is. They will not have anything you had them carrying.
Alternately, you can use “player.moveto (BaseID)” to teleport to the body and resurrect it with “resurrect.” I haven’t tried this one, but it should work.
